Flower Arrangement
This textile work is a study in abstraction, rooted in the form of a bouquet but transformed through the nuanced use of pile height, texture, and color. Rather than depicting flowers in a traditional or representational way, I chose to evoke their essence—gesture, vibrancy, and organic structure—through tactile and visual layering.
The varied pile heights introduce dimensionality, allowing the surface to echo the uneven fullness of a gathered bouquet. Textural contrasts mimic the interplay of petals, stems, and leaves, while the color palette—intentionally layered and abstracted—captures the emotional resonance of florals rather than their literal hues.
Through this abstraction, the bouquet becomes something more than an arrangement of flowers; it becomes a sensory field where movement, memory, and material coalesce. The work invites viewers to engage not with a recognizable image, but with an impression of growth, celebration, impermanence, and the richness found in natural forms.
